What is Tikkun?

Tikkun is a concept from Kabbalah that points to the soul lessons, patterns and areas of growth that help you evolve. It suggests that each of us has opportunities to heal, balance and bring more light into ourselves and the world. Understanding your Tikkun can bring greater self-awareness, compassion and purpose to your life.

The meaning of Tikkun

Tikkun (Hebrew for 'repair' or 'to make whole') is a core concept in Kabbalah. It refers to the soul's journey of healing and completion, both on a personal level and as part of a greater collective process. It is not about being broken, but about recognising the areas where you can grow, learn and bring more harmony into your life and the world around you.

Tikkun is not about fixing what is broken. It is about remembering what is whole.

How it shows up in life

Your Tikkun can show up as recurring patterns, challenges or strong themes in your life. These might appear in your relationships, your emotional responses, your sense of purpose or the situations you are drawn to. They are not obstacles, but invitations, showing you where there is an opportunity for greater awareness, healing and alignment.

In your SZINN Alignment Blueprint the Tikkun layer is read together with your South and North Node: where you come from, what tends to repeat, and where your growth wants to go.

Why it matters

When you understand your Tikkun, life begins to make more sense. Challenges feel less random and more meaningful. You can approach them with curiosity rather than frustration, knowing they are part of your soul's growth. Working with your Tikkun can help you cultivate compassion, resilience and a deeper sense of purpose, not only for yourself but also for the positive impact you can have on others.

Reflection prompts

Take a few moments to journal on these questions:

  • What recurring patterns show up in my life?
  • What might these patterns be inviting me to learn?
  • How can I respond with more awareness, compassion and choice?
  • What would become possible if I embraced my Tikkun?
